About
Welcome to The Pier Cafe, a hidden gem located at 889 Point Nepean Rd, Rosebud, Victoria. This delightful establishment graces the shores with its spacious, sunlit interior, inviting you to enjoy exceptional fare in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The cafe isn’t just a spot for coffee; it excels in both traditional and contemporary Greek dishes that resonate with flavor and generous portions.
As a food reviewer at Foodjoyy, I am particularly enamored with the menu offered at The Pier Cafe. Their breakfast options provide a tantalizing start to the day, with classic sides like freshly scrambled eggs, crispy hashbrowns, and creamy feta. The dishes are priced reasonably, ensuring that quality does not come at a high cost.
Customer reviews herald the culinary experience here as impressive, with many praising the inviting ambiance and attentive service. Maria Simitsis, one happy customer, noted the cafe's pleasant atmosphere and the generous serving sizes. She raved about the beetroot and feta bruschetta, describing its flavors as "interesting but delightful." The deconstructed souvlaki and beef burger were standout main dishes, crafted with quality meat and bustling with flavor.
Moreover, The Pier Cafe caters to families with a thoughtful kids' menu featuring hearty options like scrambled eggs and bacon or fluffy pancakes served with ice cream and maple syrup. A visit here is equally enjoyable for children and adults alike, as they make sure everyone feels at home.
Special mention must be made of the cafe’s baked goods. The pastries, ranging from toasted plain croissants to almond croissants generously filled with sweet cream, are simply irresistible. A bit of indulgence to pair with your morning coffee is an absolute must when you stop by.
Whether you're a fan of Greek cuisine or curious to dive into something new, The Pier Cafe should be on your radar. The culinary team here, driven by Ari’s commitment to freshness and quality, presents dishes that are not only hearty but skillfully prepared with love. The seafood platter, a lauded favorite, exemplifies the attention to detail and flavor balance that defines The Pier Cafe. As one patron put it, “you don't need any dressing since it is that good.”
In conclusion, The Pier Cafe stands out not just for its delectable menu but for its inviting environment and outstanding service. With ample parking and a location that makes it an ideal stop, it is no wonder that guests leave with satisfied smiles and plans for a return visit. Highly recommend making this your next dining destination!
“ Great corner restaurant! We came here for Sunday lunch. The place is spacious inside and well lit. Not too big but not too small. Nice pleasant atmosphere, not too loud. Great service from the staff; friendly and always with a smile. High quality food with large serving sizes. We tried the beetroot and feta bruschetta for the entree which had interesting but delightful flavours. For the main we ordered the deconstructed souvlaki and the beef burger. The meat was fantastic. Well cooked and full of flavours. The lamb (on the gyro souvlaki) was slightly salty for my liking but still eatable. The coffee that we had afterwards was also very good. We left very satisfied and will be coming back for sure to try other dishes on their menu. There is plenty of parking also. Highly recommend! ”
“ This is more bistro restaurant than cafe to us. It’s a terrific place. Cafe Pier really surprised us. It’s an impressive establishment that serves very good Greek food. It deserves s higher rating on what we experienced today. The restaurant is sited in a nice corner position on Point Nepean road. It also looks inviting from the street. It’s bright and airy inside with lots of white. The ceilings are higher than you’d expect too. They’re still fake plants up high but that doesn’t jar too much from a distance. There’s ample tables here including a few outside and a good communal table out there too. It’s a good set up overall. I bet the trade is fantastic in the holiday season. It’s a good menu here with plenty of Greek and non Greek options. We both selected the souvlaki wrap with chicken and lamb gyros. We were expected something fairly small but this dish was about three times larger than what we were expecting. So, the offering is a long way from those dinky little 2 euro ones they serve in the Greek Isles. The dish here was large but happily equally as tasty as those from the home country. There’s beautiful soft pita, really good lamb and chicken too - tender and tasty as. In addition, there was really good tatziki, creamy with good amount of dill, fresh lettuce, Spanish onion and tomato. It’s very well done. The accompanying chips were beautiful, golden and mouth watering. Not a small serve again either. It’s a sizeable and very generous serve. Overall, it’s a very satisfying dish that we actually struggled to finish. We’d boldly ordered a lovely Greek salad too as we thought we’d need it. We didn’t. The salad was very nice but huge as well. We had to ask for a container to take it away as we weren’t able to eat much of it. It’s a good salad and pleasingly they hadn’t skimped on the feta. Again, it was a very generous piece. I always like to comment on service. The service here was very good. Very polite, informed and efficient from our young server. This restaurant was a surprise packet for us. It punches comfortingly above its rating on what we experienced and no doubt that’s why it does well in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed Pier Cafe. We will return here for sure. ”
“ Amazing service and the nicest staff, I would recommend this place to anyone who is a fan of Greek food or who is new to it also. I had their seafood platter and it was the best I have ever had and you don't need any dressing since it is that good. Very homey atmosphere but modern at the same time. The owner is Ari and she work nights and days to make sure you get the freshest meals which is complete dedication in my books. They make homemade marshmallows and they are to die for. ”
“ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had such a great experience at Pier View Café! We turned up as a group of 26 for morning tea and coffee without any booking, and the team couldn’t have been more accommodating. They welcomed us warmly, quickly organised seating, and the service was fantastic from start to finish. Everyone was so lovely, and our coffees and cakes came out promptly (and were delicious!). Highly recommend for both the great service and the friendly atmosphere. Thank you, Pier View Café! ”
“ I wanted a place to eat Greek but options were limited as many restaurants seem to be closed on a Tuesday. Great service and nice atmosphere. Had a few dishes, most were good but found the meat platter to be a little dry. Overall, it was decent and not overpriced. There is a bit of space too so ideal for families. ”
“ We went for brunch and had an awesome experience. Generous portions of food with good taste. Tea was superb. Place has a good vibe to it and service was quick. ”
“ Great food for a small outfit. Enjoyed the saganaki, calamari and kataifi prawns. Moussaka was also good - comfort food! Reasonable wine selection and seating inside and outside, very convenient parking opposite on Pt Nepean Rd. Friendly service. ”
